Contest Guidelines

"I SHUTTER TO THINK ’91"

The purpose of the exhibition is to provide an opportunity for the students, staff and faculty of
Douglas College to show their creative talents through the medium of photography.

This show is for the novice and the experienced; the brave and free; the ‘Sunday’
photographer.

 

= Jurying of preliminary submissions will be done by a panel of experts outstanding in their field.
Votes for the People’s Choice Award will be accepted during the exhibition. A prize of $100.00 will be presented to the
first place winner. Second and third place prizes will also be awarded.

SUBMISSION & JURYING CRITERIA

e A maximum of 3 photographs per person may be entered.

e Photos may be submitted, matted & framed, or unframed. If unframed, please note your plans for matting and
framing.

e Work must be photographic in whole or part. eg: 2-dimensional, b/w or colour images, 3 dimensional, photo
collage etc.

e Photograph size is not a factor; however, for exhibit purposes;
Works when matted and framed should not be less than “9x12", larger pieces are encouraged;
Works selected for the exhibition must be suitably and properly matted and framed, with appropriate
wire for mounting.

ENTRY PROCEDURES

HOW... Submissions should be carefully packaged.
Each piece must be securely labelled with the following information:
1. Name, address & telephone numbers
2. Title of work and size (if known) when matted and framed
3. Price (if work is not for sale, please mark N.F.S.)
Fill out the form at the bottom and bring it with you when delivering works.

 

WHERE & WHEN... Read The Inside and watch the electronic message service in late August and early
September for where to submit photos. Photos must be submitted by September 5th.
