- Reminder

The Co-op Office is accepting
proposals for a small number of on-
campus Co-op positions for the Fall/
87 and Spring/88 semesters. The
work must be related to the students’
program of studies and wages will be
paid for out of the central Co-op
budget. Detailed information was
provided to the Deans, Directors and
Department Chairmen/women in a
memo dated June 4, 1987.

The deadline for submitting
proposals to the Co-op office is Fri-
day, July 31, 1987. Please contact Barb
Franck (local 2710) or Jeff Howard
(local 2711) if you have any questions
or require assistance in preparing
your proposal.

FRIENDSHIP
TOUR TO
JAPAN

The City of New Westminster will be
sending a sister city delegation to
Moriguchi, Osaka this fall. This two-
week friendship tour to Japan in-
cludes visits to Moriguchi, Osaka,
Kyoto, Hakone, Mt. Fuji, Kamakura
and Tokyo. In Moriguchi, partici-
pants will be invited to various recep-
tions and activities by the people
there.

If you are interested in visiting
Japan in the near future, this is a very
interesting and valuable opportunity.
The cost of the tour is approximately
$2,900 and optional tours to Hong
Kong, or Thailand and Hong Kong,

Douglas College welcomes Ms.
Lynn Power who has accepted a posi-
tion as Confidential Secretary. Ms
Power will be working for Gordon
Gilgan, Dean of the Academic Divi-
sion and Jim Sator, Acting Dean of
the Applied Programs Division.

Ms. Power comes to us with eleven
years experience as an Administrat-
ive Assistant with the Prince Edward
Island Department of Health and So-
cial Services.

She will begin work at Douglas
College on July 27, 1987. Welcome
Lynn! We wish you every success in
your new position with us.
