Fly off to Stratford Ontario and the world of William Shakespeare. Here is something different! Ken Dercole, a Douglas College instructor, has designed a study tour of British Mental Health Prac- tices. This tour will be of special interest to mental health workers, psychiatric nurses, instructors and students, and anyone with a keen interest in mental health services. The purpose of this tour is to explore the history, organization and delivery of mental health practices in Britain and com- pare them to those in British Columbia. Study NOTICE TO FACULTY/STUDENTS - from Reading/ Study Skills Do you know that in order to gain ad- mittance to any of the following pro- -grammes (Nursing, Chairside Dental Ass., Early Childhood Education, Drafting, Clerical Health Worker, Nurse's Aid) you must be able to read and com prehend at a specific threshold level? Failure to obtain the specified level set down by these programmes can mean rejection from these programmes. There are three ways of at- tacking the Reading Threshold Testing: 1. Take your chances and write the test 'cold turkey' on the date specified. aNVs/Te BOMIN.CO A DOUGLAS COLLEGE 2. See one of the Counselling/ Student Services receptionists and ask to be tested on a similar but alternate form of the reading test. This will enable you sto find out if you need any prepar- atory work before writing the real test. . You can make all your reading skills sharper and more efficient by taking our Reading 100 course. At the end of this course all students will be given the same reading test that is required for the threshold.
