At the request of the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam, ACCC is inviting applications for 4 POSITIONS as Program Planners. Under the provisions of the 5th National Development Plan (1986-1990), 2 vocational colleges are to be built and administrated under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam. These colleges are expected to be operational in early 1991. The vocational colleges will offer modularized courses in the following departments: ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL, BUILDING, BUSINESS STUDIES, SERVICE INDUSTRIES AND GENERAL EDUCATION STUDIES. These are full-time courses offered to students who intend to progress to higher level certificate programs at technical colleges or enter employment training programs including apprenticeships. A work experience/cooperative education component will be an integral part of all second year courses. Successful applicants, under the overall guidance of the Ministry of Education, will: ~ design and develop modular format education and training courses; - assign specific development tasks to members of working groups and program advisory committees; - liaise with representatives of secondary and post-secondary institutions, government, business and industry; - assist the project coordinator to oversee and monitor adequacy and use of physical facilities, equipment - in the compilation of budgetary information relating to capital equipment costs and facilities development at the vocational colleges; - assist in elaborating an effective selection system for prospective vocational college students from the secondary schools; and - assist in the development and implementation of a Program Planning Unit. REQUIREMENTS; Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related discipline and a Masters degree in Adult Education or Instruction Technology or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Extensive experience in an educational and industrial/business environment in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of vocational courses. Experience in: diagnostic testing and learning assistance provision; implementing co- operative education arrangements and management information systems; the development of apprenticeship programmes; the compilation of dictionaries of occupational analysis and guidance and counselling techniques.
