Ishani joins the College on August 7, following a lengthy period as an Administrative Assistant at Ryerson Polytech- nical Institute. Please join us in welcom- ing Rashida to Douglas College. a Jack, BCGEU Bargaining Chairperson for Douglas College, has resigned from her position as union chairperson, | effective July 19. She will be | replaced by Glen James as Acting 7 Chairperson until elections can be held in September. Admitting she made her decision to resign with “a great deal of mixed emotions,” Jack cited reasons as a four-month extended medical leave and up- coming restructuring within Community Programs and Ser- vices, where she is senior clerk. Jack has been active in union activities for eight years and served as bargaining chairperson since September, 1990. While encouraging other employees to work active- ly within the union, she also praised the present climate of labour manage- ment at Douglas College. “T got involved (in the union) to help people stand up for their rights.
