INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / JANUARY 23, 1990 Athletic Update WOMEN’S BASKETBALL January 13 - Saturday evening the Royals met Trinity Western Univer- sity in their first league game of the season. Despite playing good, ag- gressive defense, Royals could not generate any offense to speak of, and struggled with poor outside shooting and missed lay-ups to fall 48-44. Trudy deBoer led Royals with 10 points, followed by 9 from Carrie Carlesen. WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL The women’s volleyball team had an extremely lackluster weekend at the UBC Thundervol- ley tournament losing all their matches. "It was just one of those weekends," says coach McInnes. "You can bet we'll be practicing on Sundays with scores like that."
