INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE/NOVEMBER 15, 1988 Morfey Scholarship Fund Hundreds of friends and col- leagues turned out to honour Douglas College’s first employee, Bill Morfey, at a spe- cial dinner and dance. The highlight of the evening was new bursar Peter Greenwood’s announcement of the estab- lishment of the M.H. (Bill) Morfey Scholarship Fund. The new fund will recognize Bill’s ongoing commitment to education by awarding scholar- ships to outstanding faculty and students. The fund is permanently en- dowed through gifts from Douglas College employees, Board members, organizations, corporations, and other friends of Bill Morfey and Douglas Col- lege. Donations to the fund are tax deductible and receipts will be provided by the Douglas Col- lege Foundation. The endowment fund is in- vested by the Douglas College Foundation. Income from the fund is dispersed, upon applica- tion, by a cross-college committee representing stu- dents, faculty and administration. Donations to the fund can be made by completing the enclosed gift card or contacting the Foundation Office at 520- 5400, local 4813. United Way of the Lower Mainland and Douglas College Campaign ’88 - November 14-28 To All College Employees, Once again, United Way is asking for our support in their Annual Campaign. This year, the Douglas College campaign will focus primarily on a direct mail campaign to all regular employees. Other opportunities will also be available for sessional/temporary employees who may wish to contribute. Over 50 agencies serving the Douglas College region are funded by the United Way. One in three in- dividuals in the Lower Mainland is helped through the United Way services in the community. This impacts students and employees of Douglas College. The need for support continues. Please read the posters and other information provided during the cam- paign weeks. Please consider supporting the United Way. Ross Stewart Chair, Douglas College Campaign Committee x United Way
