TO: DOUGLAS COLLEGE BOARD On March 10, Dr. Gerry DellaMattia held a consultation of Deans and Bursar on program evaluation. They agreed upon the major elements of a program evaluation system, as part of the 5-Year Plan process. On March 10, Dr. Ron Faris of the Ministry, responsible for Academic and Continuing Education Programs, spent the day at Douglas College. Among other things, he held preliminary discussions with Dr. DellaMattia and Mr. Jim Doerr on the possibility of Douglas College becoming the provincial centre for training in co-operative learning - a methodology of classroom instruction well suited for post-secondary and adult education work. I would like to draw to the Board's attention, the revised date of the College graduation, which is now targetted for June 3rd. Internal Matters - Personnel Performance evaluations of administrative personnel are ongoing, and appear to be working well. The "scaling" project involving a review of the present ranking and relationships of administrative personnel on the payscale is also ongoing. We expect to have a preliminary report in May. WLD/gb
