TT Veteran twin or young gun? By David Hollinshead but there is no doubt that the Canuck’s Sedin twins have attained the superstar status everyone had hoped for when they were drafted back in 1999. But could anyone have fathomed that they could have alternating scoring title years? Last year, Henrik not only won the Art Ross trophy with 112 points (29-83), but the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player. This season, he isn’t having as amazing a year but is still on pace for a 97 point season. Now it’s his twin brother Daniel who has stepped into the spot light. Daniel has always been labelled the goal scorer of the pait, and Henrik being his “wingman” (despite being the center on the line) always seemingly setting him up at every opportunity. Their efforts have Daniel on pace to score 104 points and currently, he is the NHL’s scoring leader, upping Tampa Lightning’s young star Steve I: may have taken a while, Stamkos. 104 points doesn’t eclipse Henrik’s season of 112, but wouldn’t it be something if Daniel took home the Art Ross and possibly the Hart? Henrik’s claim of being the better brother might be silenced for at least another season if this became a fact. When questioned, Henrik jokingly claimed, “If I had someone like me setting me up, I’d have as many goals as (Daniel) does.” The Canuck’s are currently sitting first in the league, largely due to the contributions of their dynamic duo. Daniel’s not guaranteed anything yet. As mentioned before, Stamkos has been flirting with the scoring lead all season long and is right on Daniel’s heels. Stamkos’ first season was nothing too amazing, but he had a solid 46 point season (23-23). His next season in the NHL saw his point totals over double, as he-definitely found his stride, hitting 95 points (51-44) and at that point, everyone in the NHL knew he was going to be something special (he also picked up a Rocket Richard Trophy in the process).
