INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE/APRIL 2, 1991 Mary Johnson - Department of Psychiatric Nursing [' is with sadness that the Department of Psychiatric Nursing notes the death of Mary Johnson, RN, a long-time member of the Psychiatric Nursing faculty. Mary died on March 18, 1991 after a long battle with can- cer. Mary joined the Psychiatric Nursing faculty at BCIT in 1980, teaching as part of the Pediatrics/ Mental Handicap Team. She transferred to Douglas College with the Psychiatric Nursing Program in 1985. During her time here she taught basic nursing skills and medical nursing in the clinical setting. Mary was a committed nursing practitioner and teacher. She was a joy to work with and an important member of the Department. She was a caring human being who will be sadly missed by all her colleagues and friends at the College. Mary is survived by her husband, Greg and 15- year-old daughter Meagan. @ That's a lot of Crock — Pots! Dip You Know.... « « « « The population of the region served by Douglas College is projected to grow from 400,000 to 450,000 people during the next decade. This information, however, does not help tremendously in predicting enrolment trends. The difficulty in forecasting those trends lies not in anticipating population growth, but in estimating how many of those people will be par- ticipating in post-secondary and other College programs.
