Kathleen Galarneau has been hired as the researcher. She is a familiar face to many of you. The project will address Regional Co-ordination issues for students with disabilities in the regions served by the Lower Mainland colleges: Kwantlen, V.C.C., Capilano, and Douglas. Kathleen will evaluate the provision of services and programs to adults with dis- abilities in the college regions. She will focus on educational needs, communication systems, and co-ordination issues. Kathleen will be contacting many college personnel who have contact with disabled stu- dents: instructors and front line people (Admissions, Library, Stu- dent Services, etc.). ABEABC SPONSORS WALK FOR LITERACY e second annual Walk for Literacy will be held in Stan- ley Park on Saturday, October 24, 1987. Walkers from all over the Lower Mainland will gather together to support the work of Project Literacy B.C. The purpose of the walk is to raise public awareness about the many adults in British Columbia who have trouble reading and writing. The walk for Literacy is sponsored by the Adult Basic Education As- sociation of British Columbia.
