This year the awards will be organized as an experiment or pilot project. This award is open to all”current full time and part time faculty of ACCC member Institutions. The awards are not to be construed as a competition, but rather as 4 recognition of teaching activity that is novel, unique and of a calibre that can be shared amongst college faculty across the country. Terms of Reference The Innovation in Teaching Awards are intended to become an ongoing activity of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges, operating in conjunction with the Annual Conference Planning Committee. In 1987 this activity will be conducted as 4 pilot project. The awards will recognize a cross-section of innovations in teaching, highlighting the variety of different innovations from the different regions of Canada. The awards will be presented in both official languages. The awards will be presented on June lst, 1987 at the ACCC Annual Conference Opening Ceremonies. Six awards for innovation in teaching will be presented, as well as 6 Honourable Mentions, one from each region. Recipients of the award will receive a certificate and plaque acknowledging their achievements. A brief description of their innovation will be printed and circulated to ACCC constituent members. To be eligible for nomination for an award, the innovative practice in teaching need not have commenced in the current year, but must have been active during the 12 months previous to the presentation of that year's awards.
