RE: 1980 VACATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS

Please give some thought to your 1980 vacation and professional
development plans by March 31, 1980. Your Vice-Principal/Director
will be requesting your plans for the year and your suggestions £Or
professional and curriculum development.

The College will endeavour to accommodate your plans. However, it
may be necessary for other staffing reasons to ask you to consider
some adjustment in time.

If for any reason you are unable to work out suitable arrangements
with the management on the campus to which you are assigned, please
address your appeal to the Dean of Educational Services.

VISIT OF THE EXTERNAL EVALUATION TEAM FOR THE SELF-STUDY

We anticipate that the ketenrial Team for Self-Study will be visiting
the College during the latter part of March. I will publish the exact
date of the visit when the Ministry has firmed it up.

To ensure that all members of the College community are fully ae
for the visit, I am requesting that:

(1) The Chairman of each self-study unit convene the members of the
team for the purpose of reviewing the unit report, giving special
emphasis to the recommendations and the ways and means of their
implementation.

(2) The self-study unit team ensure that all members of the unit are
thoroughly familiar with their unit's self-study report.

The final report is currently being printed and will be presented to
the College Board later this month. Subject to the Board's approval,
the report will then be released to the membership of the External Team
and to the College community.

It is clear from our work on the College Steering Committee for self-
study that the report will be an extremely useful guide to our planning
process and to institutional renewal.

On behalf of the Steering Committee and the Director of Self-Study,
thank you for the high level of cooperation you have already shown ,in
this project. I look forward to your continued cooperation as we move
through the phases of the External Team visit and follow-up.
