Emphasis is on vocal technique., choral skills, and introduction to excellent choral literature available to and appropriate for younger singers. This choir, again because of its increas- ing size, must limit its numbers and therefore, a vocal interview and placement is required before a child is allowed into the choir. Amabilis Singers (Douglas College Community Choir) Founded in 1981 by its conductor, Diane Loomer, this choir is now one of the largest community choirs in British Columbia. Several concerts both formal and informal are sung each year and the choir is renowncd for its community spirit, generosity, and joy in singing.
