FRANKS, who began doing Street Art in 1983 in rebellion against institution- al art, has presented several local gallery shows, is currently attending Emily Carr College of Art and Design, and has won a Community Arts Coun- cil Scholarship. He comments: “To reveal the irony and violence we all face day-to-day without coming right out and stating the obvious, is a prime priority for what | do. By reducing im- agery and colour to almost singular el- ements a point can be made, provok- ing the viewer to react in his or her own way: rather than leaving the observer (as happens all too often) to search for the artist's purpose in creating art.” MEET IN THE THEATRE FOYER GALLERY FOR A PROVOCATIVE DISCUSSION WITH 12 MIDNITE.
