I am really upset with what has been happening recently in the C.F.F.
All of my concerns mentioned just'a few short, months ago in letters to the
Mad Hatter are being realized. \ '

To continue having a voice in faculty affairs I have had to join a trade
union - the Directors' situation js unsettling and unpleasant, various technicians
are probably unhappy, various Ed. ,Planners are probably unhappy, many faculty have
chosen not to join the union, and:our affiliation with the College Faculties
Federation has resulted in the hiting of a "field organizer" who is credited in
the Vancouver Sun's Wednesday SAE LOR with a statement indicating possible
strike action by colleges.

I! 11 be damned if someone like Eric Green (who is not even a faculty
member in any college) is going to commit me to any sort of behaviour, least
of all strike action. A field organizer should be organizing fields - not

‘Jousting at windmills providing a shrewd provincial government with more

cannon fodder. (I admit my metaphors are wild).

I am not asking you to damn the faculty association or its executive
(of which I am a member), but I appeal to you,to reflect on current events and
provide reasoned and responsible guidance to the executive, The forthcoming
association meeting deserves better than normal attendance.
