It’s springtime, the transitional season when flirting,

there are exactly five weeks

left of the spring semester, and

four months until summer begins.

Before we start teasing ourselves
with images of the beach, swimming,
lounging in the sun all day, perhaps

a drink in hand, let’s pause for a
moment and enjoy what’s in front of
us—spring.

The rain has turned the world
green and the sun is helping everyone
to strip off some layers and enjoy the
outdoors. With the drastic change -
in atmosphere and environment,
studying no longer invades weekend
playtime, and the rain no longer
dictates our activities. The world
becomes our playground.

Also known as mating season,
spring brings a pleasant change in
attitude from all men and women.
Radio broadcasters have recently
been discussing “dating tips” and
advertisements are pushing products
that will give you “a spring glow
to get your man.” Let’s face it;
less clothing means more attention
from the opposite sexes, we cannot
help that we like things that are
aesthetically pleasing.

This is the perfect time of year
to have fun, flirt, and go on dates, but
there is a time and place to do so.

¢ At work: See that cute co-
worker that just got hired? Don’t
do it. Mixing work with pleasure
rarely has a happy ending.
Messy breakups not only make
the situation uncomfortable for

There is nothing more irritating
than someone who is creeping
on you while you’re working

Go to the games! Guys and
girls alike, competitive sporting
events are always a lot of fun no
matter who is playing, and think
about it; if it’s a guy’s hockey
game there will be tons of boys
there and if it’s a girl’s volleyball
game there will be tons of cute
girls. Grab your friends and go;
worst case scenario, you have a
few drinks and waste a couple of
hours watching sports.

¢ Bars: A lot different from clubs,
bars are a great way to relax and
socialize with friends. There’s
music, food, lots of seats, and
reasonably priced drinks. The
Point, Foggy Dew, Rivers Reach,
and even SFU’s Highland Pub
are a few fun places.

* Shopping: Not necessarily
to spend money, but to just
window shop and waste a day
looking around. Guys;.a sure
way to meet women.jis to go to
a mall or downtown Granville
or Robson Street. Girls are
always in a good mood while
they are out spending money and
won’t feel at all pressured when
approached.
