DOUGLAS COLLEGE STAFF ASSOCIATION

Dear Members:

It is our pleasure to inform you that we are now Local 62 of
the B.C. Government Employees' Union. In conjunction with
this we are also affiliated with the B.C. Federation of Labour
and the Canadian Labour Congress.

Now that we have been certified by the Labour Relations Board
and have become an autonomous local of the B.C.G.E.U. the next
step is to start negotiations for our first agreement with
College Council.

Members of the Executive along with a Union Representative hope
to meet with the Administration this week to discuss some of
the business which has arisen.

There have been many meetings of the Executive and Committees
formed on each campus.

Should you have any questions or comments please contact a
member of the Executive. The Executive members are:

As soon as it is possible a special general meeting will be called.
Only members will be allowed to attend. If you have not already
joined the Staff Association and wish to do so contact a member of
the Executive. The fee is $5.00.

The Executive sincerely hopes that everyone had a very happy
Christmas and it is our wish that the New Year will bring us
closer to the goals we have been seeking for some time.
