Berlin Notes [Berliner Autzeichrunger] is an ttempt to illustrate current ‘‘going ns’’ in Berlin. Transferred Impress- ions is concerned with collages as xpression. And finally, C. Dikeakos’ work is involved with myths, Greek land Roman gods and the use of imodern designs. R.Rauschenberg and C. Twombly’s Tranferred Impressions are concerned With surface, gestures, and collage use. Twombly brings writing into the pais and drawings, and uses references to Greek history, literature land philosophy. Twombly starts his art off with line land body gestures, and adds inner images and poetic imagination. Raushcenberg starts with everyday images (e.g. buckets, cars) and uses he mass media to interpret the metropolitan world. One of his works is Natural History, Part 1, Mushrooms hich shows a mushroom’s magical land poetic charms. Christos Dikeakos used during the ’s collages to make political com- ments. His early projects dealt with: sex, war and how data is presented by: the ‘media. He was active in Van couver’s anti-art movement based on: Dada’s artists of the 20’s. : His recent works of the mid 70’s are large hand-painted photos based on: collages. The basic theme throughout his art is Icarus (Greek legend—son of: the inventor Daedalus. To flee the labyrinth of Crete where they were held: captive, Daedalus made wings: for himself and son. The son flew too. close to the sun and dropped to the sea to die.) One of his works incorpor- ates Medusa to produce mystery and: a feeling of the sacred. All through his work runs the meaning that our world with war, technology, etc. has become amiss because it will not see the sacred. : C. Dikeakos has his show until March 16, 1986.
