January 18th 1983 The Other Press How You Can Run THE OTHER PRESS : oe THE OTHER PRESS is run by the students. That’s you ! There are two sectors of running 3 ~ THE OTHER PRESS ; both consist of all students. You again! The staff picks their positions by § choosing what area of the paper they would like to do. If there’s a particular position (such as coordinator of some sort ) one wants, they may be democratically elected by the members of the staff The board members are the other sector of running the THE OTHER PRESS , They're $ elected in September and remain so until August 31st. There are 5 board members elected by the staff and 1 *non-voting’ member who is formally hired by the board as business manager. All board members may be staff members as well ( with the exception of 1 board member having no staff membership for an outside say in the decisions made).At present, THE OTHER PRESS is short one board member ( who may be a staff member) and the position of business manager has not as yet been made official.
