DOUGLAS COLLEGE ATHLETIC AWARDS

FEMALE ATHLETE OF
THE YEAR 1986-1987

Kim Phipps, member of the Douglas
College Women's Basketball team
was named Female Athlete of the Year
1986-87 at the recent Athletic Awards
Banquet. Phipps was Totem All-Star
1986 and Douglas College MVP 1986
and 1987. Looking up to Phipps and
presenting the award is Peter Green-
wood, Comptroller of Douglas College.

Blake Bevan (right), Douglas College
Men's Volleyball team member was
awarded the Male Athlete of the Year
1986-87. Blake was assistant captain
of the Douglas College Men’s Volley-
ball team 1985-86, captain of the team
in 1986-87, League All-Star 1986-87,
All Star at the Provincial Champion-
ships 1986-87 and All Canadian
Award winner 1987. Standing with
Bevan is Kim Phipps, Female Athlete
of the Year | 986-87 (centre) and Peter
Greenwood, Douglas College

Many thanks to Tim Frick who did a
terrific job as M.C. for the evening and
to Peter Greenwood for sitting through
all the speeches in order to present the
awards.

Next year, we are determined to have a
successful season and hopefully will
be back at the College for Awards
Night. Look forward to April 8, 1988
and mark your calendars now.
