In the Studio Theatre, Chery! Swan directs two one-act plays which are intimate, poignant, funny and cut to the heart of how we see ourselves and each other. The Most Massive Woman Wins by Madeleine George revolves around four women waiting for surgery in a liposuction clinic. Louis And Dave, by award-winning Canadian playwright Norm Foster, explores the difficulties which arise when one member of a long standing friendship changes and the other remains fixed in old habits. They run from March 3-11. In the Performing Arts Theatre, Director Stephen Drover pulls a gender-bending switcheroo in his version of William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Women play the male roles and vice versa and in the process the production makes a sharp comment on identity and social roles. It runs March 10-18. Matheson's swan song: Cheryl Matheson, Theatre Coordinator, got married in West Vancouver in July, 2005, honeymooned on the Mexican Riviera in December, 2005 and will officially change her name to Cheryl Swan in March, 2006. + Michael Strutt will be sailing the Mediterranean throughout July as a Guest Enrichment Lecturer for Celebrity Cruise Lines.
