_ Athletics Update

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The women’s basketball team
split games on the Feb. 17 weekend
going down to Trinity Western 69-
64 and defeating the league’s first
place Malaspina 69-47. Lorraine
Denis was high scorer in both
games with 24 and 17 points respec-
tively.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

The men’s basketball team had
a terrible weekend Feb. 16 & 17
beginning Friday night with a
crushing defeat by Trinity Western
91-59, followed by a 70-60 loss to
Malaspina on Saturday. Taras Mas-
lechko was high scorer for both
games with 16 and 17 points respec-
tively.

BADMINTON

The badminton team had a su-
perb weekend! The Al Mawani-
coached team crushed all other
colleges winning the team event 5-0.

beaten in the team event. In the in-
dividual competition, Sian Deng
won the Women’s Singles. Trish
Schill and Kelley Wong won
Women’s Doubles and Aleen Mawji
and Sharon Halpin won the Mixed
