TO:- All Support Staff Employees Departmental/Divisional Supervisors FROM: Supervisor of Personnel ’ Administration RE: Modified Work Week College Council has authorized the establishment of the Modified Work Week as a permanent feature at the ' College subject to approval on an individual basis by the Bursar. ‘ The Council has charged the Bursar . with responsibility to ensure that any installation of a Modified Work Week shall involve no increase in -cost/staff to the College and shall involve no decrease in service by the department/division concerned. Essentially, the same criteria which applied at the time of the initiation of the experimental modifications . shall continue to apply to the in- ' stallation of "permanent" arrange- ments. A copy of these criteria , have been passed to each Supervisor. ‘ This office will be available to meet ‘ with departments/divisions of the College on an individual basis who may wish to discuss proposals they ' have in mind or answer such questions ‘ about criteria, etc. as may be re- _ quired, Requests for such meetings should be addressed to this office ' as soon as possible. June 26th, 1974 (Woes S. Hill Applications to initiate a Modified Work Week on a regular basis should be made on the forms provided to each Supervisor. You should be aware that any proposal that entails working more than 8 hours per day which was not in effect during the ‘ experimental phase, requires the approval of the Department of Labour and may take up to two months to be received, Department/divisions who have been on a Modified Work Week during the experimental phase but do not wish to continue or whose application to continue is not ap- proved by the Bursar, may continue in the experimental model until ' 31 August 1974. ' To permit time for proposals to be submitted and considered, and when necessary, approved by the Department of Labour, the implementation of modifications on a regular basis shall be effective 1 September 1974. . Interested departments/divisions should make their submissions as soon as possible and in any case, no later than 12 July 1974.
