The Conference Program Committee is looking for proposals on the conference theme, The 2/st Century Learner. This theme will be divided into five tracks: Use of Technology, Changing Learner Characteristics/Demographics, Learners and Learner Success, Changes in Governance and Management, and Partnerships for Success. As a result of the College’s generosity, an initial cheque for $838 was sent to Tanzania on December 10. An additional $250 towards school building materials went out on January 13. With his new duties, Mike will no longer be able to work with Vye Flindall as the liaison for the College’s seasonal hamper program, but he called to convey his personal thanks for everyone’s hard work this year. Thanks to Mike, the number of local families has risen from eight to 24 in just three years. The larger of the two units is an eight foot tall, pop-up, curved display unit suitable for any general College promotion intended to remain on display for more than a few days. Because of its size, another, smaller unit was also purchased. The smaller unit is very easy to transport and set up, and is designed for table-top displays. To book either of the two new units, or the old one, please call the CMO at local 5628. 10 za New video releases The Douglas College Library recently added over 200 titles to its video collection, with topics ranging from children and aging to the environment and criminology. The additions also include 26 feature films. The computer catalogue has the full list, including descriptions and locations.
