Visual Language Interpreter Training In- structor Jan Humphrey displayed her skills and versatility on September 23 when she interpreted in both English and some Frenchduring the presentation by Federal Liberal leader Jean Chretien at the College. Humphrey’s signing and Chretien’s hand gestures were both cap- tured in a front page photo in the next morning’s Vancouver Sun. Vickers claims Science honor... After devoting years to encouraging women to study and work in the science fields, Biology Instructor Mary Vickers has won the Science Council of B.C.’s Eve Savory Award. Vickers was one of the founders of the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology, and helped create three educational programs for the Society. The award is named for CBC-TV reporter Eve Savory, in recogni- tion of her work to promote science awareness. Congratulations, Drew... Congratulations to Stagecraft’s Drew Young and his wife Laurel Bryson on the birth of their daughter, Zoe Joan, on Sep- tember 12. Zoe joins two brothers in the Bryson-Young clan.
