Re: College Prep.

On Tuesday, October 7, 1986, the College Management Committee received
and discussed that following recommendations:

 

Having received the advice of the Management Forum and having consulted
with the Dean of Educational and Student Services and the Director
of Student Services and Developmental Education, I am recommending
the following:

1. That no action on assignment of responsibility or budget for College
Prep courses take place until the ABE province-wide articulation
is completed. This articulation is expected to be completed this
fall and should provide clear indications of levels of accomplishment
for provincial certification.

2. That upon receipt of the completed ABE province-wide curriculum,
the Dean, Academic, after consultation with the affected
disciplines/programs will make recommendations to Management
Committee regarding:

(a) Curriculum jurisdiction
(b) budget allocation

It is anticipated that this will occur early in the spring semester
and that implementation could occur by September 1987.

It is further anticipated, based on the present level of knowledge,
that there will not be major jurisdictional changes, nor major
budget changes and that some developmental work will be required
to fill in the gaps of existing curriculum.
