OUGLAS COLLEGE LIBRARY ARCHIVES Hatter a Tuesday, October 21, 1980 DOUGLAS COLLEGE LIBRARY ARCHIVES MINUTES OF OCTOBER 14, 1980 MEETING RE: MOVE OF NURSING PROGRAMS Present: Andy Andrews Win Matheson Mary Fewster Don Porter Bob Lisson Reg Pridham Bob Lowe John Slattery The move of the Nursing Programs to the north side was outlined, and two alternatives were given serious consideration by the group: 1. Leaving Nursing at Kwantlen College until the new building in New Westminster is ready for occupancy. 2. Moving Nursing to the Coquitlam Campus, effective May l, 1981. The group explored the problems and trade-offs involved in the Nursing Programs staying at the Surrey Campus for 12 to 18 months after the creation of the two colleges (May l, 1981). The consensus was that in spite of the significant obstacles, it is more desirable to move the Nursing Programs (except Long Term Care and Homemaker) to the Coquitlam Campus. effective May l, 1981. John Slattery was named as the administrator responsible, in conjunc- tion with Mary Fewster, to see that the move to Coquitlam is brought about in the most effective and efficient manner possible. John will also keep all affected parties informed of the procedures and progress as details are worked out. Win Matheson was named as administrator in charge of Health and Human Service Programs for Kwantlen and was asked to develop a budget for a lab to support the Long Term Care and Homemaker Programs. It was agreed that Gerry DellaMattia would be asked to work with the Admissions, Library and Counselling Departments to assist them in regard to the move. = INQ.
