The Douglas College Newsletter | New Westminster Campus, David Lam Campus, Surrey Training Centre May 2008 Education Fair highlights College programs, services and new Health Sciences Centre Douglas College feted its new Health Sciences Centre at the David Lam Campus May 1 with pomp and circumstance, plus gadgets and gizmos galore. Premier Gordon Campbell officially opened the new Centre, saying that “thanks to the sophisticated technologies and excellent instruction, students can hone their clinical skills in the lab and be fully prepared to take their place on health-care teams around the province.” Health Sciences faculty and students showcased the new technology for the Premier and guests with a simulation using [-Stan, a hi-fidelity mannequin that can talk, breathe, bleed and simulate many health conditions. The opening was followed by the Education Fair, with more than 60 programs and services taking part.
