In case you’re wondering, cashier Kim Radcliffe is the one responsible for putting up Christmas lights and holly wreathes in the Deli Cafeteria back in the first week of October. "I did it just because I want everyone to be ready for Christmas," says Kim. "I think it’s the best time of the year." Kim denies owning shares in Hallmark, or any other card company. And the beat goes on... There seems to be a strange 60’s trend at conference receptions these days. When the Bookstore’s Linda Valecourt and Margo Lott recently attended the Western Collegiate Bookstore Conference at Banff, the reception featured a 60’s theme. Mini- skirts, leopardskin vests and day-glo orange turtlenecks were the order of the day. Entertainment: lip-synching Sonny and Cher impersonators, of course...When Rob Linschoten of IMS attended a media conference during the summer, he had to endure an Elvis impersonator. Perhaps it was the reception’s questionable quality, but for some reason all fire exits were sealed, making it impossible to leave early. Linschoten admits the sealed exits made people jittery when the final act appeared -- a fire juggler. Sitting Priddy...
