Set up in 1991 to administer standardized program entrance testing, typing tests and Math and English comprehension diagnostics, the Assessment Centre has been humming ever since. After completing an average of 350 tests each month for the 1995/96 fiscal year, the Centre posted a record- setting 672 scheduled assessments for July. With the opening of the David Lam Campus, Coordinator Georgina Ferguson expects things to kick into an even higher gear. “Anne Kim will do assessments two days a week at the new campus. With part-time hours also in effect at the Thomas Haney Centre, students can now be assessed at the closest campus to them, regardless of where the program is located.” The expanded services will also ease the transition for new programs and help prepare employees on all campuses for prior learning assessments. For information on specific services, contact Georgina Ferguson at local 5483.
