Services include field investigations, hydraulic design, hydraulic model studies, numerical modeling, calibration and test- ing and reports. Western Canada Hydraulic Laboratories Ltd. has been involved in numerous invest- igations, a Fraser River Model was constructed to serve as the instrument by which the inter-related aspects of ship navigation, maintenance dedging, shoreline industrial expansion, flood control and environmental factors can be studied in detail. The Fraser River Model occupies approx ely two acres of land and represents the tidal reaches of the river from the Strait of Georgia 68 miles upstream. Western Canada Hydraulic Laboratories Ltd. is having an Open House on 2 and 3 June 1978 to demonstrate our Fraser River Model. The demonstration will require about one-half hour and will include a short explanation of the model and its use followed by a guided tour. A time period of 45 minutes from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM on 2 June has been reserved for Douglas College. A group of up to 30 students and staff are invited to attend the demonstration.
