With the permission of the staff member, communicate with the College community via the "Mad Hatter" regarding changed staff circumstances: i.e. weddings, illness, internal transfers/ promotions, retirement, etc. E. Recognize special contributions by staff members to the Bargaining Unit, the College or the community. F. Send a card to other members of the College community in cases of extended absence due to illness or injury, such as administrators, faculty, etc. G. Make recommendations regarding workshops/seminars and action it views necessary to the appropriate committees. H. Where any problem arises involving clauses in the Collective Agreement, this is outside the jurisdiction of the Committee and will be referred to the Bargaining Unit or appropriate Steward. PROCEDURES A. One representative will be appointed by each Department for the purpose of communicating with the Co-ordinators regarding changed staff circumstances. The information will be communicated on a special form. B. Upon receipt of the information, the Co-ordinator will advise the Committee Chairperson. Gs The Chairperson will pass the information along to the appropriate Committee member for action. (A duty roster will be prepared.) D. The Chairperson will communicate with Personnel to confirm that staff are still on long term disability. E. Minutes of Committee meetings and financial statements will be sent to the Bargaining Committee by the Chairperson. F. Meetings will be at the call of the Chair. FUNDING A. Following any expenditure, funds will be requested through formal application to the B.C.G.E.U., as outlined in the Financial Manual. B. Funds will be obtained from the Regional Council to formally recognize special contributions by staff to the community. sifS
