Brian Bisset Photo Jock itch How would you produce a winner? | know, your all thinking, this is another bleeding heart column about getting an education during these hard economic times. Or its about all those important, controversial issues that college stu- dents like, or pretend to like debating until their 1.Q. drops below their shoe size. Well big disappointment, here gang, for the college debating team that is, if we have one. Sorry, no abortion, no capital punish- ment, no legalizing marijuana, no homosexuality or other big issues. Do we have a debating team? Well | guess for not knowing the answer to such an elementary question, this will surely disqualify me and probably you from the much larger issues. Should we do something strange and take an educated guess? Is it my or.your fault for not knowing? Ill get to the point. Douglas College has a lot of teams in various activities, and some are doing quite well. The one | wish to mention is the hockey team. Sorry debators maybe next time. Yuppers, we do have a on’ team, and they are doing quite well, They may look like Motley’s Crew, but they are seeing: great success. From a no-name brand to just failing short of being ranked sixth in the§ nation by losing one of their leagueg games. ; Are they winners? Has Douglas term? My god this is far too Con- fusing. Who Cares! That’s it, that’s the an-§ swer to the question of ‘‘How would@ you produce a winner?”’ like recognition may occur. If the college debating team won something, could you imagine what could happen. They would have -tog offer scholarships to stay on top, and maybe even send scouts to smart kid might get recognized for something. Good luck to all the real winners regardless of what activity, you kno what it takes to produce a winner. rd Technolo Word Technology Word Technology Word Technology Word Technology “ard Technolor: PRO WORD TECHNOLOGY Word Processing Services Resumes, Term Papers, Theses, Technical Reports Letters Call 584-8434 |
