The following memorandum was submitted to George Wootton on January 25.by,C. Marxer on behalf of members of the Liberal Studies Department. To: George C. Wootton As you know, planning for the ‘second year at Douglas is well underway, and third semester course outlines are to be ready in March. ‘In light of this, the undersigned members of the Department of Liberal Studies urge that attention be given at: once to the matter of faculty teaching loads. We believe for a variety of reasons that the current normal load of 16 class hours per week is excessive and that it should be reduced before curricula and schedules are finalized for next September's classes. We request, therefore, that this item be added to the agenda for the next general faculty meeting. Signed, Re. Howell C. Marxer B. Coulcher J. Strayer E. Peerless’ Je Sellers A. McMillan CG. Curmi U.
