=o The work of ‘BC First does not end here. Almost from the time of commitment to the project, BC First has been busy spreading the word to those considering a switch to jumbo sized rolls - "Better designed, better priced British Columbia made dispensers are on their way - please think BC First!" There are several exciting postscripts to this story. Strong interest in high quality well priced dispensers from British Columbia is being expressed by tissue paper converters in Eastern Canada and the U.S.A. Negotiations are underway to lease the moulds to an Australian converter. It is estimated that production of dispensers will reach 100,000 in 1988 with an annual value in excess of $500,000. These dispensers will play a vital role in assisting British Columbian paper converters displace imports of jumbo rolls from Europe, estimated at approximately $5 million per year. ‘(Imports into Canada total $25 million per year.) BC First is embarked upon a number of import . replacement initiatives involving such diverse products as uniforms, dress caps, processed food products, ceramic tableware, traffic cones and fabricated metal products.
