THE MAD HATTER A Douglas College Newsletter published weekly during the spring and fall semesters, bi-monthly in the summer semester ; hy Douglas College Technical and Vocational Institute P.O. Editor: Judie Steeves, Surrey campus Telephone: 588-4411, loc. 283 as Vet tere: CHRISTMAS PARTY There have, each year, been varying opinions on the value of Christmas parties. Every year we have ap- proached this in a different way. One advantage of a bit of history, i.e. we are getting older, is that one can reflect back on which of the various things tried has been most successful. After discussion with a number of people, there appears to be general agreement that the most successful social experience we have had in years was the dinner dance held at Hazelmere. Tying all of the above together, I would like to ask that the Executives of Local #62 of the B.C.G.E.U. and the Faculty Association consider naming two members each to sit on a Christmas Party Planning Committee, along with two members of the administration and College Council. The purpose, of course, is to organize a major dinner dance for the Christmas Season for all full-time and part- time faculty, staff, administration and College Council members. I would ask that all interested persons contact their respective Executive if they want to take part in this plan- ning. Or, please send any ideas you have to Mary Christy so that the committee can consider them. 14 you think the Mad Hatter has’ been a Little madder of kate And f0r you to think it was Judie ‘we would neakly hate For the past two weeks while Judie has been on Capital Hi Liz and Maggie have had the pleasu of Aunning the mill.
