Because of it DOUGLA Douglas College badminton has benefited richly this year, Currently in all our sports we have tried to put the lid on travel costs and play local. And thats a dinger way to serve the college community! With the Junior Colleges scattered about the Province intercollege competition is out for the time being at anything but a token level. So in the case of badminton’ the College has entered the Vancouver and District Bacminton League. Now our most adventurous sortie Need be only as a far as the hinterlands of Langley. Another plus for-~® this league is that we can field c' two mixed teams of sight instead of the one we were restricted tg’ . before. Douglas Collage has entries in both Divisions Three and Five of the League. In addition each team member Peete participates in both doubles and mixed play every time out, whereas before players could compete in only one category each play date at intercollege meets. And the schedule? Chock full of nuts! Each tivds division plays almost weekly until wz March, allowing for the Christmas beeser break, Further to this competition there are tasoen Association sponsored tournaments till April that Douglas may enter, and a few intercollege -€ée fixtures.
