The responsible Dean will review the membership of the Educational Leave Committee in October and notify those departments which need to elect new members. 3. Completed application forms will be sent to the responsible Dean by December Ist. The Dean will have forms, guidelines and other relevant documents duplicated and distributed to the Educational Leave Committee members. The Dean will review all applications to ensure that the necessary supporting documents are included. 4. The President will inform the College community of the priority needs, goals, and objectives for the coming year by August 31 of each year. 5. The Committee will meet early in December to review procedures, past practices, orient new members and choose the chairperson. 6. Relevant people and groups (as specified in Article 12.14 of the ollective Agreement) will be notified and asked to comment on the application. Copies of these comments will be distributed to the Educational Leave Committee members and the applicant. 7. Following these comments, and as a result of Item 6, and at the discretion of the Committee, all applicants may revise and resubmit their applications. Note: normally, substantive revisions changing the intent of the original application will not be considered once the Committee has begun its work. 8. The Director of Personnel will be requested to verify the eligibility of each applicant pursuant to Articles 12.04, 12.05 and 12.06 of the Collective Agreement. 9. The Educational Leave Committee will meet pursuant to Article 12.15, to review the applications. 10. Interviews: a) Before the interviews, the Committee will meet as a whole to exchange comments and questions, and points of clarification regarding the applications. b) Applicants will be sent questions relevant to their applications prior to their interview. c) Up to thirty minutes will be allowed for each interview. 11. Ranking: a) Immediately following the interviews, the Committee will exchange information on each candidate's application. b) A vote will be taken on each application, to determine whether it be accepted for further consideration or rejected and therefore not ranked. Criteria: clear, realistic and of value to applicant and the College. c) Accepted applications will be ranked. 12. Comments on each of the applications will be drawn together by the Educational Leave Committee Chairperson or designate as the report and recommendations of the Committee. This report will be circulated to all Committee members for final comment before being submitted to the President on February 28th. 13. Each applicant will receive a copy of the Committee’s report. 14. The College President communicated the final decision to the applications by March 15. The College President shall determine whether or not the educational leave recipient has fulfilled his/her contract. The College President may consult with the Educational leave Committee for assistance in determining whether the original purpose and objectives of the leave have been fulfilled. 6. The College 5 Year Plan, and its most current revision, establishes certain objectives for the College. Applicants for Educational Leave are invited to review these docu- ments.
