ie Cae ae 7 ae r OF ea Sa oy es eden ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES TO THE REGULATIONS CONCERNING THE AWARD OF GRANTS FOR UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES Timetable The Foundation's timetable for the receipt, processing, and con- sideration of applications for its two annual sets of meetings in the spring and fall is as follows: Spring Fall Deadline for the receipt of applications March 1 September 1 Circulation of applications, and consider- March and September and ation by Projects Committee and Board of April October Governors Meeting of Board of Governors Early May Mid-October Advice to applicants of results of their Second week Third week applications of May of October Distribution of funds by the Trust Company Second half Last week of May of October It will be seen from the above that applications for projects that are to be undertaken in the spring and early summer should be submitted to the Foundation meetings of the preceding fall, and that those to be undertaken in the fall or early winter should be submitted to the meetings of the preced- ing spring. Applicants should allow plenty of lead-in time, so that if a grant should not be approved by the Board, or approved only to the extent of part of the funds requested, they will still have time to appeal to other sources of funds before the date by which a decision must be made to go ahead with the project or abandon it. Finally, with regard to temporary projects, such as conferences or exhibitions, it should be noted that the Board will not normally approve post facto grants. Authorizations Applications from universities or colleges should be approved by an appropriate officer of the institution concerned, whether it be the Resource Director, Grants Officer, or Dean of the relevant Faculty. = 16G SLL EGE LIBRARY.
