LL LLL LL a a a BS ESE ETT GE TGS EEC Contractor for Pinetree Way main building named The Pinetree Way campus site as it looked in late May after the foundation was poured. Work on the main campus building begins this month. DGS Construction Company Ltd. from Surrey has been chosen to build Douglas College’s Pinetree Way campus from the slab up. The announcement was made two weeks ago by Director of Facilities Services Terry Leonard. “They’re hoping to be on the site June 5, and they are scheduled to complete the project in August 1996,” said Leonard. Work on the foundation is nearly done, with subfloor drainage systems, grading for floor slabs, and electrical conduits installed just ahead of the concrete pouring in late May. Pinetree Project Manager West Graydon says that DGS Construction can begin work when the foundation is about 75% finished. Things are a little behind schedule because the foundation contractor lost nearly a month due to February’s rain, but Graydon says that time may be recovered. “We hope to pick that up on the main building contract. Once you get out of the ground in this business, things are a lot more predictable.” I
