SURREY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
requires a Summer Program Supervisor -
Sports.

The program supervisor will be respon-
sible for the planning and implementa-
tion of one week sports camps for phy-
Sically and mentally handicapped chil-
dren and teens and a few special out-
trips for mentally handicapped adults.
Supervision of program volunteers is
also involved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated ability to plan, promote
and implement recreation programs. Ex-
perience and expertise in a variety of
sport activities. Leadership, super-
visory and communication skills. Skills
in report writing and record mainten-
ance. Class 4 driver's licence. First
Aid certification (current). Previous
experience with persons with special
needs, and a personal attitude of re-

 

creation and people with special needs
consistent with that of Surrey Parks

requires a Senior Leader - Adult Out-
deer Program.

"Sendastsu" is an outdoor program for
mentally handicapped young adults, in-
terested in learning specific outdoor
recreation skills. The program's senior
leader will assist the Program Supervi-
sor, a junior leader and a number of vol-
unteers in implementing the program.
QUALIFICATIONS :

Demonstrated ability to implement re-
creation programs for adults. Experience
and expertise in a variety of outdoor
activities. Leadership, commmication
and some supervisory skills. Skills in
Class 4 driver's licence. Current First
Aid Certificate. Canoe experience. Pre-
vious experience with person with special
needs and a personal philosophy of re-
creation and persons with special needs
consistent with that of Surrey Parks and
Recreation Commission. i
