"Fields" is published in the latest issue of Event, 18/3. Keefer was previously a Writer-in-Residence at Douglas College. Frustrated when photos of family events and other occasions are less than terrific? This course is designed for the hobbyist and serious amateur photographer who is looking to become more adept at taking pictures technically and compositionally. Photographic topics such as backgrounds, portraits, groupings, close-ups and scenics will be ex- plored. The advantage and disadvantages of both flash and available light photography will also be examined. There will be one assignment utilizing colour negative or slide film. Bring your camera. The event is being sponsored by the B.C. Egg Marketing Board and the theme will be anything related to eggs. Eligible are traditional Uk- rainian eggs, "innovative eggs", egg paintings and designs in fibre or fabric, and hard sculpture (wood, papier mache, etc.) Entry deadline will be Sunday Apri. *th. Entries may be delivered to the Arts Centre, Queen’s Park, New Wesuninster between 12 noon and 4 p-m. Thursday, through Sunday, April 5-8. Prizes will be awarded on Easter Sunday, April 15 at 3 p.m. in the Centennial Lodge, Queen’s Park.
