Other recipients: Ken Anderson, Brian Storey, and Alison Gill Sport Science Department won a 2006 Team Excellence award for being a role model of a closely knit, industrious and imaginative team as demonstrated through the development and implementation of the College's first Post-Degree Diploma in Physical Education Instruction, the completion of the full program proposal for a Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching and the team’s professionalism in collaborating with the Therapeutic Recreation Department in the completion of a five year diploma program with the Shanghai Teachers University. Team Excellence: Uganda Field Learning (I-r, front to back:) Lawrence Becker, Nancy Newman, John Fox, Bob Shebib Uganda Field Learning won a 2006 Team Excellence award for having created a unique international learning opportunity for their students through a practicum experience in Masaka, Uganda, in April 2006, to provide support to mental health and HIV/AIDS programs and services to children with disabilities. The team broke new ground for the college by creating an international learning experience and providing all the supports to make it happen. They have extended the learning experience for the practicum students by encouraging them to share their experiences through presentations to groups both internal and external to the college.
