Amanda Aikman Culture Editor Feb, 18, 1992: Feb. 19, 1995: Feb. 19, 1997: After 11 years with the group, Vince Neil quits as lead singer of Motley Criie to spend more time on his career as a racecar driver. Turns out those redneck racetrack types didn’t take too kindly to a glam rocker in eyeliner and lipstick, and Vince returned to his true hair-band calling five years later. Motley Criie drummer Tommy Lee marries Pamela Anderson on a beach in Cancun. Anderson, who wore a classic white wedding bikini, had Lee arrested three times and made out with six members of the congrega- tion before even making it to the end of the aisle. A New York judge dismissed a $7 million lawsuit a fan filed against Motley Criie for hearing loss suffered at one of their concerts. The judge said the fan knew the concert would be loud going into it. He did howev- er award the poor plaintiff $15 mil- lion in pain and suffering for having to endure the sight of grown men with giant crimped hair jumping around in spandex pants for two hours. http://www.otherpress.ca e Page 15
