WELCOME, MARIA A special welcome back to Maria Iaquinta, who is the new in- structor/ clinician in the Access Learning Resource Centre (ALRC). Maria worked in this position nearly two years ago asa contract instructor. She is replac- ing Jody Pilling who is starting a new phase in her life by moving to England. We are now saving more than two tons of paper towels every month." Bill: "Good! Then what's the next step to save more of our scarce natural resources?" Terry: "I’m going to get similar dryers to replace toilet paper." SERVICES FOR STUDENTS 1. Assistance with admission and registration procedures. 2. Arranging for readers, transportation, or tour of the College. 3. Exploring adaptations for classroom activities: exams, lecture notes, and completing assignments. 4. Support in adapting to the college environment. 5. Referrals to other departments, service areas, or community agencies. 6. Information on ramps, washrooms facilities, parking, and general accessibility. 7. Assistance in locating special materials, equipment, and services. SERVICES FOR FACULTY 1. Consultation and support in integrating a student into the classroom setting. 2. Consultation and support in finding ways of adapting course materials for students with special needs. 3. In-service workshops on specific topics regarding various disabilities. 4. Assistance in obtaining special equipment or learning materials required by student in order to adapt to the classroom environment.
