Bais page six The Other Press February 25, 1980 ‘< Attend the AGM in the New West cafe on Thursday No SS elections There will not be any student society by-elections this semester. Due to lack of nomina- tions all persons who filed for any of the open posi- tions were appointed to those positions. Glynis Shearer, formerly a New Westminster rep, is the new Vice-president: in- _ ternal while Leslie Brown, “Ron Burnstad, Ron-Guy Cowan, and Bill Carvell were all appointed to New Westminster Campus rep- resentatives. One person withdrew. an application for New West- minster rep. New Westminster cam- pus chairperson, Kevin Hallgate, said the reason why there were so few applications when there actually eleven positions open is that people are too lazy to read the signs put up. Hallgate alleges that even if the student society were to spend hundreds of dollars advertising elec- tions there would still not be any more response. ‘Everyone sees the signs but they ignore them,’’ said Hallgate last Wednesday. Apathy has been the biggest hurdle — placed before the student ‘society this year and president Les Brett is hoping that the problem doesn’t surface at the AGM to be held at New Westminster this Thursday at noon hour. ~ AGM Agenda Agenda for the Douglas College student society ~ Annual General Meeting to be held Thursday Feb. 28 1980, 12:30 p.m. .
