Envisioning the future .. . Tony Viani of the Dispensing Optician Program was one of the participants in this year’s Career Fair held March 11. The Alumni Association reports that this was the most successful Fair yet, drawing a record number of representatives and attendees. DC Vision Centre to remain open for summer ‘97 The Douglas College Vision Centre and employee office space at the David Lam Campus will remain open during the summer. Once the Winter semester ends, services such as the Library, Bookstore, Cafeteria, Centre for Educational Technology, Systems & Computing and underground parking will close April 19 — May 3. The Vision Centre will remain open Monday to Friday, 9:30am — Spm, but will close for staff holidays July 28 — August 17. The David Lam Campus itself will remain open for employees Monday to Friday from 8am — 6pm, although some entrances may be locked for security purposes. Bring your lunch! 2a Trees for Retirees This winter, Georgina Ferguson of the Assessment Office planted a very special tree in New Westminster’s Tipperary Park. Dedicated to her late husband, Jack, the tree will leave a lasting memory while improving the environment in the greater College community. Trees for Retirees, a program sponsored by the Douglas College Institute of Urban Ecology, allows retired College employees to request that a tree be planted locally on their behalf.
