Basketball:
Net gain

 

This season’s edition of the men’s
Basketball Royals is a hard-working
group, a mix of talented newcomers and
returning veterans under coaches Dave
Munroe, Dave Heel and Richard
Williams. Last year’s squad had just one
returning player, but after a building
season, the team is working for a return to
prominence as more than a dozen
experienced players hit the court.

Plans for next season include New
Year’s exhibition games in Hawaii, and
tournaments in Texas, Arizona and
California. These competitions will help
to attract even more high-quality athletes
to Douglas College and give returning
team players the experience and
confidence they need for conference play.
Coaching staff feel that the team is just
one recruiting class away from meeting its
goals, and look forward to building up
steam over the next year. ff
