NOON AT NEW WEST CONCERT Recital: Ed Bach, trumpet & Monica Pfau, piano Thursday, September 28 - 12:30 — 1:30 Douglas College Performing Arts Theatre, Room 4100 Ed Bach Free Admission Mr. Bach, a trumpet soloist, is a sabbatical replacement for Blair Fisher in the music department. His responsibilities at Douglas Col- lege include being the Director of the Bands, and the private tutor of a number of fine up-and-coming trumpet students. Alongside his responsibilities at the College he keeps busy per- forming as a soloist and most nota- bly as a member of a Touch of Brass. In 1988, this popular brass quintet performed all over the world, in- cluding the U.S.S.R., Australia, India, England, Hong Kong, Sin- gapore, U.S. and Canada. Mr. Bach received his Bachelor of Music at Brandon University, his Masters degree at U.B.C., and will graduate with a D.M.A. at U.B.C. in May, 1990. His accompanist, Monica Pfau, is a brilliant pianist who has per- formed at Douglas College before. She is currently working towards her D.M.A. at U.B.C. and is very ac- tive as a soloist and accompanist. She is the winner of many distin- guishing awards, her most recent being the Killam Fellowship at U.B.C.
